    HIGH CERVIX FRIENDLY!!
***If it keeps leaking you might be placing it further in than you need to!!!***Background info: I have a very very high cervix, strong pelvic muscles (I weightlift), and I purchased size small. How I use this comfortably: I fold the cup to insert (I use a punch down fold to create the smallest possible shape) and once it is inserted I twist the cup inside gently and it pops open very easily. I run a finger around the cup and feel its roundness to ensure it’s fully sealed and opened up. If it feels squished then it isn’t fully open and it will leak, so in that case I squish the cup and then it pops open. (Sometimes you can also just squat or stand up and it’ll pop open on its own). Now, where I was going wrong in the past was I was inserting it past the canal into the fornix. Please do yourself a favor and look up an anatomical diagram, it really helps. I thought that the further in the cup went the better it would seal.Turns out, many beginners also have this belief and it causes the cup to leak because it can’t suction properly if it’s misplaced in the wrong anatomical location. As someone with a high cervix, this fact was life changing and led me to enjoy using cups.High cervix friendly: I have an extremely high cervix and I find this cup very comfortable to use now that I have an understanding on how to properly use it. I actually trimmed the stem off entirely and can use this cup comfortably because you don’t actually have to insert it that deep. It is so easy to insert and use if you have the correct fit for you. I used the put a cup in it quiz online and it suggested this cup to me for reference. I also use the Saalt disc and quite enjoy that as well. I use the Saalt disc on heavy flow days and the cup on lighter days.Stem: Now, I find the stem annoying and uncomfortable so I cut it all off because you are not even meant to use it to pull it out per the brands instructions. The stem is only there to GUIDE your fingers to reach/find for the bottom of the cup to break the seal and remove. Therefore, I found it useless for me personally even as a high cervix user who can never even feel their cervix, it’s no joke over here. I got scared when I saw reviews of the stem breaking off, but I believe that is user error as I never had that issue removing the cup by breaking the seal, following the instructions on the paper that came with the product. Tugging on the stem could actually cause you pain because the cup has suction.Removal process: Very easy, it’s so straightforward to feel the bottom ridges of the cup and use that to grip gently and squish the bottom of the cup to break the seal. Then, I usually make it into a taco shape to remove it, it makes it super easy to remove (more comfortable than it is to remove a tampon).Strong pelvic muscle friendly: I weightlift heavy and workout very often and this cup has given me zero issues. I can use the Saalt regular disc and Saalt small cup with no issue at all and no leaks. I only ever leak when the cup is FULL. Therefore, I only use the cup on light days due to its smaller capacity.Beginner friendly: I think this cup is a great beginner’s option due to the fact that it is sturdier so it pops open easily without any effort. It can be difficult to tell when a cup is open or not as a beginner cup user. I 100% recommend taking quizzes online to see what cup or disc might work for you.

    My favorite cup!
My menstrual cup adventure began a little over a year ago. My first cup was the Lunette (model 1, for light-normal flow). It’s important to note that I got that cup when I was on hormonal birth control which made my periods pretty light. I loved that cup for the first year, but for the past 4 periods or so, I’ve had constant leaking issues and I could not fix the problem. Not only that, but I’ve since switched to the Paragard copper IUD for birth control, so my periods are back to how they were pre-hormones, which are reasonably heavy. My Lunette was getting filled to the top in 4-5 hours which got to be really inconvenient because I prefer to not have to empty my cup while I’m at work.I took the popular “what cup should you get” test again, knowing that my periods are heavier nowadays and now knowing how high my cervix sits normally on my period. My results came back with this Saalt cup in the size regular, and I ordered it right away after being completely fed up with yet another pair of underwear getting ruined because my previous cup was leaking all over no matter what I did.So far, I love it! I LOVE how much “bigger” it is in comparison to my old cup. Not bigger in the sense that like, it’ll be hard to put in – but bigger in that it can hold so much more. Granted my first cup was for light-normal flow while this one is for normal-heavy, but it’s a welcome change either way. It’s soft, very flexible, and super comfortable. No issues putting it in, and right away I felt confident that it won’t be leaking after it popped open and I made sure there was good suction. I put it to the test the first day too, going to a VR arcade which involved a lot of bodily movement, running around town doing errands, and just in general doing some ridiculous aerobic moves in my home to make sure nothing got past. Clean underwear!! What an amazing sight!I wanted to add, for menstrual cups in general – I was someone who wore pads for every period before I got into cups. I couldn’t use tampons because no matter what size, no matter how I put them in, I could FEEL them constantly, they dried me out so quickly, and I could never make it past a couple hours before starting to feel nauseous with them in. I thought that the menstrual cup would be the same story, but not at all. I literally cannot feel it in my body no matter what I’m doing, there is no nausea, and it lets my body stay regular and not get dried out with a wad of cotton soaking everything up.ALSO. For anyone curious about if you can use these when you have an IUD in – yes you can! If you’re not sure, then talk to your doctor. But I got the green light from my gyno that it is totally fine to use a menstrual cup even if you have an IUD in, as long as you break the suction before pulling it out like you’re supposed to – don’t just YOINK that sucker out of there without breaking suction first.I love this cup and I will be recommending it!
