How do I remove the pull string?
Most people love our pull string. However, if you try it and decide it’s not for you (or want it shorter), simply cut it with a pair of scissors, and then use a nail file to file the silicone until it’s smooth.
How do I remove Pixie Disc without the pull string?
Use a finger to find the rim, then “hook” your finger under the rim and pull down horizontally (sort of like pulling out a drawer). Keep the disc parallel to the floor to avoid emptying before you’re ready.
Do these discs work for a short, high, or tilted cervix?
Yes to all of the above! These are ideal for any cervix since they directly hug the cervix. The pull string is perfect for those with a high cervix, but if you have a short cervix, you can always trim it to your preferred length.
What is self-emptying?
When using the bathroom, your pelvic floor muscles relax, allowing your Pixie Disc to empty without you removing it. However, this feature tends to work for some and not for others. If it does empty, simply tuck the rim back behind your pubic bone.
Can the Steamer fit any disc or cup?
The Sophie Steamer can fit any brand of menstrual cup or disc as long as they don’t exceed the diameter of 3in. You may have to tilt the disc to fit it under the lid.

I’ve used menstrual cups for 10 years and highly recommend this brand
Having used menstrual cups for years, my anatomy seems to have changed and the one I had used for several years began to leak. I researched various alternatives and was impressed with what I was reading about the Pixie brand. I loved their money back guarantee and that they donate one cup/disc for every one that is bought. I also found their kits to be a great value for what you get compared to other brands. I took the quiz on their website and it suggested I may do well with the Pixie Disc, so I decided to give it a try.My first impression was that the products are designed and packaged beautifully and I appreciate the extra touches. The sterilizer is so helpful and easy to use and I wish I’d had it years ago. I’m glad I decided to buy the kit and not just the discs and would recommend it to anyone who’s on the fence. The instructions and videos were very helpful too. Unfortunately, the discs didn’t work for me. I found them to be messier than dealing with a cup and just wasn’t able to keep them from leaking. I also didn’t like that they would dump every time I went to the bathroom and need to be re-tucked behind my pelvic bone each time. I reached out to Pixie and they encouraged me to watch the videos (which they also sent me in a email), but they also offered to make it right if the discs just weren’t working for me. I tried one more time but ended up deciding to exchange them for the Pixie Cup two-pack. I received them within a few days and didn’t even need to return the discs. I really appreciated having one less thing to worry about and am hoping to find a friend who would like to try them.The Pixie Cups are working perfectly for me. I keep the smaller one in my purse and use it for the beginning and end of my period, and the large one for the middle of it. I have been wearing a panty liner the first couple of days just to be on the safe side, but I’ve hardly needed it. I’ve also not had any cramping with these cups, which is something I experienced at times with other brands. Pixie Cups are overall the best and most reliable cups I’ve used and I would highly recommend them for their quality, value, and customer service!

The perfect starter kit!
I’ve been using a menstrual cup for a few years now and the whole sanitizing process just stresses me out. The sterilizer is life changing! And so fun to use! I’ve never tried the discs before, and this may be user error, but the discs definitely have more leakage than the cup. On the other hand, the discs are easier to extract. This whole kit is such a nice deal! It even came with some lubricant and feminine wipes!

Life-Changing Once You Learn It, But Requires Careful Cleaning and Practice
This was my first experience using menstrual discs, and I chose a set that included a medium and large disc along with a sterilizer. As a beginner, I found them surprisingly easy to get used to. The small pull tab made removal much less intimidating than I expected, and I became comfortable with insertion and removal fairly quickly. It does take some practice to learn how to position it correctly, and relaxation is important. Once inserted, it needs to sit properly under the pubic bone or it can leak, so there is definitely a learning curve.I do have a heavy flow, so I still use a panty liner or pad on heavier days or when I know I will not be able to empty it for several hours. On lighter days or once I became more confident, I was able to use it alone for stretches of about 4 to 5 hours safely. The larger disc holds up to longer wear, up to around 10 hours in my experience, depending on flow and activity.One important feature is that it can self-empty when using the restroom, which is helpful, but it does require awareness and hygiene. I always wash my hands before adjusting it to make sure it is repositioned correctly afterward. Sometimes I will slightly guide it using the pull tab to release a bit of flow and then reseat it. This step does take getting used to.The discs also have small side holes designed to prevent suction and make removal easier. However, those holes do require very thorough cleaning. I strongly recommend flushing them with water by covering the disc and squeezing so water pushes through, or using a small cleaning brush. I did find buildup in those holes early on, so proper cleaning is very important for hygiene.The included sterilizer works well, but it also requires proper care. It is important to use clean or filtered water, let the device fully air dry with the lid open after use, and avoid storing it while damp. I did experience mold in the sterilizer initially due to improper storage conditions, and it had to be replaced. Since then, I have been very careful about drying everything completely and storing it in a dry environment.It also gets very hot during use, so caution is needed when handling it. I have accidentally burned myself by forgetting it was running.Despite the learning curve and maintenance, this has been a life-changing product for me. I have significantly reduced my use of tampons and pads, and in combination with reusable period underwear, I feel much more secure and waste-free overall. Once you get comfortable with the process, it becomes very effective and cost-saving.

My teen daughter prefers the disc to tampons. She had a short learning curve and now doesn’t want to use anything else. The Pixie lube was really helpful for her. Great Product!
I was a little scared to use menstrual discs as I have been using a menstrual cup for 2 years, but I had nothing to worry about! This bundle is definitely worth it as it have 2 discs and the steamer to sterilize and clean it. All you have to do is plug it in the wall, put your disc in and in 2-3 minutes (after you add a little water), and it’s sterilized! It might be hot fresh off the steamer so it is recommended to wait 10 minutes after steaming it, but then it’s ready to be used. The sizes of the discs were adequate. I’ve only used the medium size, but I am planning on using the larger size on my heavier flow days. They come with instructions on how to use them. If you’ve used tampons before, it’s quite similar just a little different. It’s also self emptying! I totally didn’t believe it at first but it works! You just use the restroom as normal and if it needs to, it will empty itself without you taking it out. It can stay on for 12 hrs. Definitely recommend!

Great kit. I already use pixie discs and love them and recommend to friends but when my microwave broke I melted them while boiling to sanitise. I needed a replacement and the steamer solves the boiling/melting issue, and is very easy to use.
